When the Road Becomes Prayer is a collection of original paintings inspired by Juliana Crownover’s family pilgrimage across Spain. Walking with her husband and four children from St. Jean Pied de Port, France, to Santiago de Compostela and on to Finisterre, Juliana discovered that the Camino offers more than a destination—it becomes a teacher.
“Through paintings of shared meals, open roads, worn feet, rain-soaked days, and unexpected acts of kindness, this exhibition explores the quiet lessons of pilgrimage: humility, hospitality, gratitude, forgiveness, endurance, and grace. Each painting reflects the ways the Camino teaches us to receive what is given—and how those gifts become what we learn to offer in return. When the Road Becomes Prayer invites viewers to slow down, to notice beauty in ordinary moments, and to consider how every journey has the power to transform us.” – Juliana Crownover
